Institutional Mission.

At the Broward Education Research Alliance (BERA), our mission is to eliminate educational and social barriers affecting children in Title I communities. We mobilize scholars, practitioners, and institutions into a solutions-focused research network that prioritizes community authority and centers the experiences of marginalized populations. We equip institutions with the tools and knowledge to design programs and conduct data work that effectively utilizes information in empowering ways.

Community-BASED Mission.

Our mission for communities is to empower individuals to control their own narratives by equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and authority to influence the data that affects their lives. We support communities in identifying needs, shaping interventions, and evaluating success from their perspective. By fostering data liberacy and promoting community-led research, we strive to create an educational and social environment where families are empowered by the institutions that serve them.
